About Cebrio gigas (Fabricius, 1787)

Cebrio gigas is a species of click beetle that belongs to the subfamily Cebrioninae. It is distributed across Europe, found in southern France, northeastern Spain, and at multiple sites in mainland Italy and Sicily. Its head and prothorax are black, with a shiny blue sheen. Its antennae are long, 11-segmented, and covered in short, erect hairs. The head, pronotum, and elytra are covered in fine, pale surrounding hairs. The posterior angles of the pronotum extend out into a long, brownish tongue-shaped projection. Elytra are brown. Legs and tarsi are black, while the lower portion of the leg is pale yellow.
