About Ceanothus lemmonii Parry

This species is scientifically named Ceanothus lemmonii Parry. It is a spreading shrub that grows close to one meter tall, and is slightly wider than it is tall. When mature, the woody parts of the plant are gray. New twigs are green, hairy, and sometimes glandular. Its evergreen leaves are alternately arranged along stems. Each leaf is oval-shaped and dull green, with dense hair on the underside and thinner hair on the upper surface. The edge of each leaf is lined with tiny glandular teeth. The plant produces abundant inflorescences, which are clusters of flowers ranging from pale to bright blue, or purple. Its fruit is a smooth capsule that is a few millimeters long.
