About Ceanothus diversifolius Kellogg

This species is a sprawling shrub that grows flat across the ground in mats, rarely reaching over 30 centimeters in height. Its younger branches are hairy, and change color from yellow-green to reddish as they age. The round to oval evergreen leaves grow up to 5 centimeters long, with finely serrated edges and a fringe of sparse glandular hairs. Short inflorescences hold clusters of flowers that can range in color from blue to almost white. The fruit is a smooth, rounded capsule a few millimeters wide.
