Catocala abbreviatella Grote, 1872 is a moth species belonging to the family Erebidae. Its range extends from Indiana south and west to Texas and Oklahoma, and north to Nebraska and Wisconsin. Adults have a wingspan measuring 40 to 50 mm. Depending on location, adult moths are active from July to August. There is most likely one generation of this moth produced per year. The larvae of this species feed on Amorpha species, and may also feed on Robinia species.
