About Catharanthus pusillus (Murray) G.Don
Catharanthus pusillus (Murray) G.Don, commonly called the tiny periwinkle, is a flowering plant species belonging to the family Apocynaceae. While most other species in the genus Catharanthus are native to Madagascar, C. pusillus occurs in India and Sri Lanka. In the Marathi language, this plant is known by the common names sangkhi, ran-kel, and tiloni, in addition to many other local names. It is the smallest species in its genus, reaching a maximum height of only 20 cm, which is why it is commonly called the tiny periwinkle. Its corolla is white with a yellow center, and the corolla tube can grow as long as 11 mm.
