Castniomera is a monotypic moth genus in the family Castniidae, described by Constant Vincent Houlbert in 1918. This genus contains only one species, Castniomera atymnius, which is commonly called the giant butterfly-moth. This species was first formally described by Johan Wilhelm Dalman in 1824. Its range extends from Mexico, through Central America, to Venezuela. The larvae of Castniomera atymnius feed on species in the Musaceae family.
