About Castilleja arachnoidea Greenm.

Castilleja arachnoidea Greenm. is a species of Indian paintbrush, commonly known as cobwebby Indian paintbrush. It is native to northern California, Nevada, and southern Oregon, where it grows in the region's local mountain ranges and the Modoc Plateau. This is a small woolly perennial herb that reaches a maximum height of around 30 centimeters. Its narrow, pointed leaves are a few centimeters long and may be lobed. Its inflorescence is covered in cobwebby fibers. The bracts range in color from yellowish to dull red, and the pouch-shaped flowers that grow between the bracts are greenish yellow to purplish red. The fruit it produces is a capsule that is approximately one centimeter long.
