About Cassia roxburghii DC.
Cassia roxburghii DC., commonly called red cassia, is a medium-sized tree that reaches a height of 15โ20 m (49โ66 ft), and has spreading, drooping branches. Its leaves are pinnate, 15โ60 cm (5.9โ23.6 in) long, with three to eight pairs of leaflets; each individual leaflet is 7โ21 cm (2.8โ8.3 in) long and 4โ9 cm (1.6โ3.5 in) broad. Clusters of pink, rose, or orange-red flowers form on the tree. Flowers are borne in pendulous racemes that are 20โ40 cm (7.9โ15.7 in) long; each flower is 4โ7 cm (1.6โ2.8 in) in diameter, with petals that range in color from red to pinkish. The fruit produced by this species is a legume.
