About Carpocoris fuscispinus (Boheman, 1850)

Carpocoris fuscispinus can grow to a body length of 11–14 millimetres, or 0.43–0.55 inches. The basic body colour of this species is quite variable, ranging from greyish yellow to reddish brown, and marked with tiny black dots. It has a sharp angled pronotum, which is more prominent in summer than in autumn. Its antennae are black. This species is widespread across all of Europe, and it mainly lives in deciduous and mixed forest areas. The larvae are polyphagous, but they are most commonly found on plants from the Apiaceae and Asteraceae families. Adults of this species are typically encountered from June to October, and these shield bugs overwinter in their adult form.
