Pineland chaffhead, Carphephorus carnosus, is the only species in genus Litrisa, native to Florida, US, a 90cm tall shrub with purplish flowers.

About Carphephorus carnosus (Small) C.W.James

The genus Litrisa consists of flowering plants belonging to the tribe Eupatorieae of the family Asteraceae. Some taxonomists merge the genera Litrisa and Trilisa into the broader genus Carphephorus, and this species is formally classified as Carphephorus carnosus (Small) C.W.James. There is only one known species in the genus Litrisa: Litrisa carnosa, common name pineland chaffhead. This plant is native to the U.S. state of Florida. It is a shrub that grows up to 90 cm (3 feet) tall. It is covered in numerous small hairs, and produces flat-topped inflorescences that hold many small purplish flower heads.
