A synonym for this species is Mocoa tetradactyla, which was described and published by A. W. E. O'Shaughnessy in 1879. This species is distributed across the Australian states of Victoria, New South Wales, and Queensland. Its listed type locality is Queensland, but this designation is uncertain.
