Scientific name: Carex tribuloides Wahlenb. Carex tribuloides, commonly known as blunt broom sedge, is a species of flowering plant in the genus Carex. It is native to eastern United States, eastern Canada, and the Mexican state of Veracruz, and has been introduced to Sweden. Blunt broom sedge serves as an important food source for soras (Porzana carolina) during their spring migration.
