About Carex scabrata Schwein.
Carex scabrata, commonly known as eastern rough sedge, is a flowering plant species belonging to the Cyperaceae family. It is native to eastern Canada and the eastern United States; in the southeastern portion of its range, it is restricted to the Appalachian Mountains. There is one documented collection of the species each from the Ozark Mountains and the Ouachita Mountains. This perennial plant grows up to 90 cm (3 ft) in height, and grows in wet areas with rich soil, especially on seepage slopes.
