Carex rostrata Stokes, commonly known as bottle sedge or beaked sedge, is a perennial sedge species belonging to the family Cyperaceae. This species is native to Holarctic fens. It occurs in Canada, the northern region of the United States, most of Europe (including Britain) extending north to 71° N, and western Asia, where it grows in wet peaty sites that have a high water table.
