Carex disperma Dewey is a species of sedge that grows in many types of wet habitats, including swamps, meadows, and moist forest understories. This plant grows from a network of branching rhizomes, producing thin, nodding stems that can reach up to 60 centimeters in length. Its leaves are flat, green, and very narrow, measuring less than 2 millimeters wide. It bears a small open inflorescence that consists of 2 to 4 small rounded spikes.
