Carex cephalophora Muhl. ex Willd. is a species of flowering plant in the genus Carex. It has several common names: oval-leaf sedge, oval-headed sedge, woodbank sedge, and short-headed bracted sedge. This species is native to the central and eastern United States and southeastern Canada, and it has been introduced to Germany. It can be found growing in late-succession old fields, including those that have developed into shaded woodlands.
