About Carausius morosus Brunner von Wattenwyl, 1907

Carausius morosus Brunner von Wattenwyl, 1907. Adult females have an elongated body shape, and measure between 80 and 100 mm (3 to 4 inches) in length. Their body colour ranges from light green to darkish brown. The base of the front (fore) legs bears red patches, while the mid-legs have similar yellow patches in the same location. The species' eggs are ovoid, brown, 2 mm (0.08 inches) long, and have a beige capitula at one end. The eggs are haploid. When hatching begins, the egg plug opens, and tiny, dark, string-like nymphs crawl out through the opening.
