About Caracollina lenticula (Michaud, 1831)

Identification: The lens snail Caracollina lenticula has a flat, lenticular shell. The shell is lightly colored gray with reddish brown tones. This snail has large antennae and black eyes. Unlike most gastropods, when it moves, its shell twists sideways to the right and lies flat. Adult individuals grow between 3 and 7 mm in length. Habitat: This species is native to the Mediterranean region. It typically lives under rocks, on walls, between plants, and behind dunes in dry coastal areas. It can also be found near human settlements and in more urban areas, as it spreads through the transportation of goods.
