Carabus granulatus Linnaeus, 1758 is a small species of Carabus. Adults measure between 14 and 20 mm in length and have functional wings. This species is defined by an elongated, not very convex body and an enlarged thorax. Its antennae and legs are black, while the upper surface of its body is shiny, predominantly colored greenish bronze or green, and occasionally black. Its elytra are nearly parallel, and feature chain-link patterned longitudinal grooves that contain granules.
