About Capsodes flavomarginatus (Donovan, 1798)

Capsodes flavomarginatus (Donovan, 1798) adults reach a body length of 6.9–7.7 millimetres, which equals 0.27–0.30 inches. The body of these bugs is fairly elongated, and the dorsal surface is covered in fine, clear bristles. Most individuals are black or dark brown, with yellow-orange markings on the pronotum, scutellum, and the tips of the hemielytra. The membrane is dark brown. The legs are also black or dark brown, and often have bright contrasting rings. This species occurs across most of Europe, though it is not found in the far northern parts of the continent. Confirmed recorded locations include Belgium, the British Isles, France, Germany, Ireland, Italy, Liechtenstein, Portugal, Spain, and Switzerland. These bugs live in a range of habitats including dry open land, glades, damp woodlands, open marshes, and woodland edges.
