About Capraiellus panzeri (Stephens, 1835)

Capraiellus panzeri (Stephens, 1835) is a non-cosmopolitan cockroach species belonging to the subfamily Ectobiinae. It is still commonly referred to by its older classification name Ectobius panzeri. This species is originally European, with its range extending into northwestern Africa, and it occurs only locally in southern Britain, where it is sometimes called the lesser cockroach. Recent research first proposed that the subspecies found in Britain, Ectobius panzeri panzeri, should be moved to the genus Capraiellus, and this reclassification has now been confirmed.
