Cansjera rheedei J.F.Gmel. is a scandent shrub. Its distribution ranges from India, through Southeast Asia, China, Sumatra, Borneo, to the Philippines. This species was formally described by Johann Friedrich Gmelin in 1791, in the 13th [revised] edition of his work System Naturae, on page 280.
