About Canarium strictum Roxb.
Canarium strictum Roxb., commonly known as black dhup, Raal, Raal dhup, and black dammar, is a tree species belonging to the incense tree family Burseraceae. This tree is notable for the resin it produces, called black dammar, which is used for both medicinal and commercial purposes. It grows in moist deciduous to semi-evergreen forests. As a large canopy tree with bipinnate leaves, it can reach up to 40 meters (130 ft) in height, and grows at altitudes between 750 and 1,400 meters (2,460–4,590 ft).
