About Camptopus lateralis (Germar, 1817)
Camptopus lateralis (Germar, 1817) reaches a body length of 12–15 millimetres (0.47–0.59 inches). Its body is elongated, quite hairy, and has a dark brown base color, with white margins and many veins on the membranous apex. The abdomen is orange-brown, and the head is wider than the pronotum. The antennae are made up of four segments. The femurs are thorny and enlarged, while the tibias are yellowish-brown and curved. This species is quite similar to Alydus calcaratus, which has straight, rectilinear tibias. This species can be found across most of Europe.
