Camponotus vicinus Mayr, 1870 is a species of carpenter ant that is widespread across western North America. Its range extends from Alaska in the north, south to Mexico, and east to Texas and Manitoba. Unlike related carpenter ant species that nest in wood, C. vicinus typically builds its nests in soil, under stones and other surface objects.
