About Cambridgea foliata (L.Koch, 1872)

Cambridgea foliata (L.Koch, 1872) individuals have a reddish-brown cephalothorax and a greyish yellow abdomen. Males and females of this species are similar in size, with an approximate average cephalothorax width of 5.8mm, but males have significantly longer chelicerae than females. Males of most other Cambridgea species have a stridulatory organ on the dorsal surface of the pedicel and abdomen, but this organ is absent in male C. foliata. This species is only known to occur in the North Island and the northern end of the South Island of New Zealand.
