Calotomus viridescens, commonly called the viridescent parrotfish or dotted parrotfish, is a species of parrotfish. It is native to waters of the Maldives and the Red Sea, with its range extending from the Gulf of Aqaba southward to the Chagos Archipelago. This species was first described by German naturalist Eduard Rüppell in 1835.
