About Calopteron reticulatum (Fabricius, 1775)

Calopteron reticulatum, commonly called the reticulated net-winged beetle, is a species of net-winged beetle that belongs to the family Lycide. It is also known by the common name banded net-winged beetle, though this same name is also used for a close relative, the similarly banded Calopteron discrepans. This species is found in North America. Adult Calopteron reticulatum are active during the day, and they lay their eggs on dead or decaying trees. This species also pupates inside dead trees. Larvae hunt in leaf litter, and feed on other small arthropods.
