About Calogaya decipiens (Arnold) Arup, Frödén & Søchting
Calogaya decipiens (Arnold) Arup, Frödén & Søchting is a crustose, saxicolous (rock-dwelling) lichen species that belongs to the family Teloschistaceae. German lichenologist Ferdinand Christian Gustav Arnold first formally scientifically described this species in 1867, when he classified it as a member of the genus Physcia. In 2013, Ulf Arup and his colleagues transferred this taxon to the genus Flavoplaca, after completing a molecular phylogenetics-based restructuring of the family Teloschistaceae.
