About Calochortus howellii S.Watson

Calochortus howellii, commonly known as Howell's mariposa lily, is a rare North American flowering plant species belonging to the lily family. This species is found exclusively in Josephine and Curry Counties, located in southwestern Oregon. It is a bulb-forming perennial herb that produces straight stems that can reach up to 40 centimeters in height. Its petals are white or pale yellow, and bear purple hairs. It grows on serpentine outcrops at lower to middle elevations.
