About Calluga costalis Moore, 1887

This species, Calluga costalis Moore, 1887, has a wingspan of approximately 12 mm in males and 18 mm in females. The second joint of the palpi reaches slightly beyond the frons. On the hindwings, vein 3 originates from the angle of the cell, or is shortly stalked at vein 4. Males have no secondary sexual characters on their wings. Adult individuals are dark-green. On the forewings, rufous suffusion is limited to the medial area, and in some specimens it is only confined to the costal half of this area. Both wings have a prominent black postmedial line with a white outer edge; this line is more evenly curved and waved on the forewing. The pale waved submarginal line is more prominent than other markings. The outer margin of the hindwings may sometimes be evenly curved, or excised below the apex. On the ventral side, males lack rough scales on their hindwings.
