About Callionymus goodladi (Whitley, 1944)

Goodlad's stinkfish, whose scientific name is Callionymus goodladi, is a dragonet species native to waters off northwestern Australia. It is a bottom-dwelling species, and it is also traded in the aquarium industry. This species reaches a maximum total length of 22 centimetres, or 8.7 inches. It was discovered in Western Australia by Matt Goodlad, a Shetlander who migrated to Western Australia with his brother James in the 1920s. At various points in their careers, both brothers worked as inspectors for the Western Australian government fisheries department.
