About Callima argenticinctella Clemens, 1860

Epicallima argenticinctella, commonly called the orange-headed epicallima moth, is a moth species that belongs to the Oecophoridae family. This species is native to North America, where it has been recorded across a range extending from Nova Scotia in the east to South Carolina in the south, and westward as far as Kansas and Texas. Its natural habitat is made up of deciduous forests. The wingspan of adult moths measures 10 to 13 mm. The forewings are yellowish-orange, marked with a silvery line edged in black that runs along the basal margin from the wing fold to the basal angle. A second similar silvery black-margined line runs from the basal third of the inner margin to the costa. The basal area located between these two lines is colored deep reddish orange. The hindwings are fuscous in color. Adult moths can be found in flight from April through October.
