About Callidrepana patrana Moore, 1865
Callidrepana patrana Moore, 1865 has a wingspan of 29 to 36 mm. Adult moths have been recorded in April and June. Its head is fulvous, while its thorax and abdomen are pale fawn in color. The wings are either pale or dark dawn-colored. Forewings show traces of a waved ante-medial line, and a dark patch on the discocellulars is often absent. A double brown line runs from the apex to the inner margin, located beyond the middle of the wing. A series of sub-marginal dark specks appears on the veins. The area within the cell and below the costa, the veins, the outer edge of the oblique line, and the outer margin are covered with spangled brilliant bluish-silver scales. Hindwings have a double straight medial line that does not reach the costa, and bear a post-medial series of specks. The outer edge of the line and the outer margin of hindwings are marked with silvery scales. The Sri Lankan form of this species is much darker; the forewing discocellular patch is broken into three small spots, and it has more silvery irroration (sprinkles). The larvae feed on the leaves of Rhus succedanea and Rhus ambigus.
