It is native to south-central Africa. This species has a broad, widely spread distribution. Its estimated global extent of occurrence is 2,400,000 square kilometers. It has been recorded in the following countries: Angola, Botswana, Ethiopia, Kenya, Mozambique, Namibia, Somalia, South Africa, Tanzania, Uganda, Zambia, and Zimbabwe.
