About Calceolaria integrifolia L.

Calceolaria integrifolia, commonly known as bush slipperwort, is a flowering plant species in the genus Calceolaria that is native to Argentina and Chile. This evergreen subshrub grows up to 1.8 meters (6 feet) tall. Its leaves have prominent veining, a slightly sticky texture, and a puckered surface. Flowers grow in clusters and bloom throughout spring and summer; they are lemon yellow, and shaped like antirrhinums (snapdragons). When cultivated in the United Kingdom, this species has received the Royal Horticultural Society's Award of Garden Merit. It needs a sheltered, frost-free location that gets full sun or partial shade. A notable cultivar of this species is 'Kentish Hero', which produces large red flowers that fade to orange.
