About Caenocoris nerii (Germar, 1847)

Caenocoris nerii (Germar, 1847) reaches an adult body length of approximately 7.5 to 9.5 millimetres, which is 0.30 to 0.37 inches. Females of this species are larger than males. Individuals have elongated bodies. The base body color is black, marked with distinct red patterns. Two red quadrangular patches are visible on the head. Two red markings appear on the pronotum shoulders, and another two red markings are found on the inner margins of the hemielytra. The hemielytra only partially cover the blackish membranous hindwings. The scutellum and abdomen are entirely red. This species occurs in parts of Europe, including Albania, Bulgaria, Cyprus, France, Greece, Italy, and Spain. It is also found across the Afrotropical realm and the Indomalayan realm.
