The mountain cacique, with the scientific name Cacicus chrysonotus, is a bird species that belongs to the Icteridae family. This species can be found in Bolivia, Colombia, Ecuador, Peru, and Venezuela. Its natural habitat consists of subtropical or tropical moist montane forests. This species is sometimes split into two separate taxa: the Southern mountain cacique (Cacicus (chrysonotus) chrysonotus) and the Northern mountain cacique (Cacicus (chrysonotus) leucoramphus).
