About Byssomerulius incarnatus (Schwein.) Gilb.

Scientific name: Byssomerulius incarnatus (Schwein.) Gilb. Description: The cap of Byssomerulius incarnatus is coral pink, roughly semi-circular, measures 2 to 6 centimetres (3⁄4 to 2+1⁄4 inches) wide, and feels fuzzy when dry. This fungus produces a white spore print. Phlebia tremellosa is a species that can look very similar to Byssomerulius incarnatus. Distribution and habitat: This fungus can be found growing on hardwood stumps and logs in eastern North America, from June through January.
