About Byasa impediens (Seitz, 1907)

Byasa impediens, commonly known as the pink-spotted windmill, is a butterfly species belonging to the swallowtail family Papilionidae. It is found in Taiwan. This species has a wingspan of 10 to 11 cm. Its wings are black, marked with large light pink spots. The underside of the wings matches the appearance of the upper side. Part of the body is black, and the underside of the body is covered in red hairs. The larvae of Byasa impediens feed on species of the plant genus Aristolochia.
