About Bupleurum subovatum Link ex Spreng.
Bupleurum lancifolium is a species of flowering plant in the Apiaceae family, commonly called lanceleaf thorow-wax. It is native to the Mediterranean Basin, and is an introduced species in other regions including parts of North America. This plant grows up to 50 centimetres (20 in) tall, producing hairless, waxy stems with leaves fused at their bases around the stem. Its dull, waxy, deep-green leaves range in shape from narrowly lance-shaped to nearly oval, and measure 3 to 10 centimetres (1.2 to 3.9 in) long. The inflorescence is a compound umbel that grows on a peduncle that may be several centimetres tall. The base of the umbel is surrounded by five wide, round to oval (and sometimes pointed) bractlets. Its flowers are yellow to yellow-green.
