About Bupleurum ranunculoides L.
Bupleurum has involucels that are pentaphyllous, lanceolate, and longer; the universal involucre is triphyllous, and the stem - leaves are lanceolate. The leaves of Bupleurum are amplexicaul; the lower ones are linear, the uppermost is cordate - oblong. It is recorded in Hort cliff. 104, Hall. helv. 437, and Roy. lugdb. 110. It is also known as Perfoliata alpina angustifolia minima in Bauh. pin. 277 and prodr. 130, and Burs. XVI: 8. It is described as Perfoliatum gramineum helveticum alpinum pumilum facie ranunculi in Lob. illustr. 137 and Park. theatr. 335, t. 338.
