Bucculatrix pomifoliella is a moth species belonging to the family Bucculatricidae. It was first described by James Brackenridge Clemens in 1860. This moth is native to North America, with confirmed records from the following locations: Pennsylvania, Virginia, New Jersey, New York, Massachusetts, Maine, Ontario, Ohio, Tennessee, North Carolina, Missouri, Utah, Washington, British Columbia, Indiana, Manitoba, Quebec, and West Virginia. The wingspan of adult Bucculatrix pomifoliella measures 7 to 7.5 mm. Adults can be found in flight between April and September each year. This species produces up to two generations annually. The larvae of Bucculatrix pomifoliella feed on trees and shrubs in the plant family Rosaceae. Known host species include Prunus serotina, Amelanchier laevis, Physocarpus malvaceus, and members of the genus Malus. Larvae create mines within the leaves of their host plants while feeding.
