About Brotogeris chiriri (Vieillot, 1818)

This bird, Brotogeris chiriri, measures 20 to 25 centimeters in length and is predominantly light green. Its folded wings have a distinctive yellow trailing edge, which remains visible even when the bird is flying. Before 1997, Brotogeris chiriri was classified as conspecific with the white-winged parakeet. In the wild, these birds mainly inhabit disturbed forests and forest clearings located around human settlements. They very seldom enter deep tropical forests.
