About Brachyglottis sciadophila (Raoul) B.Nord.
Brachyglottis sciadophila (Raoul) B.Nord. is a climbing flowering plant with woody stems that can reach 5 meters in length. It most commonly grows over other plants, or in mats along the ground. Young stems of this species are covered in hairs. As stems mature, they develop easily peeling papery bark. Its leaves are oval-shaped, measuring 1.5–3 cm long and 1.5–3 cm wide, with soft hairs present on both sides. The leaves have sharply toothed edges, and grow from slender 2 cm-long petioles. This plant produces yellow flowers arranged in small panicles, with flower heads (capitula) that are less than 1 cm in diameter. Its pedicels are covered in many tiny hairs, and its involucres measure 5 mm long. The achenes are 1–5 mm long and hispidulous, meaning they are covered in tiny stiff hairs. They are topped with 4 mm-long pappus hairs.
