Bothrocophias hyoprora, commonly known as the Amazonian toad-headed pitviper, is a species of venomous snake that belongs to the Viperidae family. This species is endemic to north-western South America. Its confirmed geographic range includes Bolivia, Brazil (specifically the states of Acre, Amazonas, Pará, and Rondônia), Colombia, Ecuador, and Peru. This species was first formally described by Amaral in 1935, under the scientific name currently accepted as Bothrocophias hyoprora.
