About Borrichia arborescens (L.) DC.

Borrichia arborescens (L.) DC. is a species of flowering plant in the Asteraceae family, commonly called tree seaside tansy. It is native to the Yucatán Peninsula, Cuba, Jamaica, the Bahamas, the Cayman Islands, Hispaniola, Puerto Rico, Bermuda, the Florida Keys, and other regional islands. This plant grows on rocky and sandy coasts, in both beaches and salt marshes. It produces yellow flower heads during late spring and summer. Despite its common name including "tree", it is only a shrub that reaches a maximum height of 5 feet (150 cm). Hybrids between this species and Borrichia frutescens are recorded in areas where the two species grow together.
