Borkhausenia fuscescens Haworth, 1829 is a moth species belonging to the family Oecophoridae, and it occurs in Europe. This species has a wingspan of 7 to 12 mm. Its head is a fairly dark fuscous shade, while its face is whitish-fuscous. The forewings are light fuscous, marked with coarse dark fuscous speckling; its stigmata are large, dark fuscous, with the first discal stigma positioned before the plical stigma. Its hindwings are grey in color. Depending on the local climate, this moth flies from July through August. The larvae of Borkhausenia fuscescens feed on a broad variety of dried plant matter, including dead leaves and debris found in birds' nests.
