About Bombus confusus Schenck, 1861
Bombus confusus, scientifically described by Schenck in 1861, is a species of bumblebee. It has been recorded in Austria, Belgium, the Czech Republic, France, Germany, Hungary, Lithuania, Latvia, Poland, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, and Switzerland. Prior to new research, visual searching for females was considered the only observed pre-mating behavior of this bumblebee. Recent studies have confirmed that Bombus confusus also uses labial gland secretion to attract females, alongside the previously documented visual search behavior.
