Boletus vermiculosoides A.H.Sm. & Thiers has tannish caps that measure 5โ12 centimetres (2โ4+3โ4 inches) wide. Its stem grows 5โ12 cm tall and 1.2โ2.5 cm (1โ2โ1 inch) wide. This species can resemble Boletus durhamensis, and their ranges may possibly overlap. It is found growing on the ground under oak trees in eastern North America, from June to September.
